Deiseb a wrthodwyd For care assistants to be paid more than the minimum wage

£8.72 an hour! And yet people wonder why there are always care jobs available, it’s not that people don’t want to do the job, it’s just not paid enough for the work that they do. But yet someone can sit at a till and scan someone’s shopping through for £9+ an hour!

As far as I'm concerned the poor care workers have been ignored and forgotten about during this pandemic! They do just as much if not more than NHS nurses and its time it was recognised 😡😡 the trauma these workers have experienced on a daily basis looking after the elderly and vulnerable is horrific while putting themselves and their families at huge risk everyday! Giving end of life care long before they have to due to the simple fact they the old people are not afforded the same treatment as you and me and not permitted to b admitted to hospital with this virus.
This is something very close to my heart and it is about time these people were given the money and recognition they truly deserve So NURSING SUPPORT WORKERS OR CARE ASSISTANT/WORKERS don't deserve more than minimum wage.
Apparently it's because they "only sit around and make cups of tea for people" and it’s an unskilled job?!?!?
But we stay caring for these vulnerable people, because we DO GENUINELY CARE!
