Deiseb a wrthodwyd Issue a resolution in support of a referendum on Welsh independence

Westminster has never cared for Wales except in the way that our resources can be extracted to benefit them and the Eton educated upper class. The situation since the Brexit referendum and during the Covid crisis has merely made this clear to far more people than ever before, leading to the phenomenal surge in support for independence.

The road and rail networks of Wales are indicative of an extractive economy, major links in the north and south all lead to the country next door with no decent links within Wales. Billions of litres of water are taken from Wales every year and we produce twice the electricity we use, but the people of Wales get no financial recompense for either, in fact paying more than average in the UK for both. Westminster has refused to listen to the Senedd on matters regarding Brexit, has denied extra employment support to Wales until England also needed it, has time and time again broken promises to invest in Wales, keeping us poor while the south east thrives, all the while claiming that we'd be nothing if not for "handouts" from Westminster. The people of Wales are waking up to this shoddy treatment and to the lie that is the UK mantra of "Stronger Together". The people of Wales demand better, and the Senedd of an independent Wales can provide better.

Mae Deddf Llywodraeth Cymru 2006 yn cadarnhau graddau pŵer y Senedd i wneud cyfreithiau newydd a diwygio cyfraith bresennol (a elwir hefyd yn gymhwysedd deddfwriaethol). Mae Atodlenni 7A and 7B o Ddeddf 2006 yn nodi’r materion sy’n gyfyngedig neu a gedwir yn ôl - h.y. meysydd lle y caiff Senedd y DU, nid Senedd Cymru, ddeddfu.

Byddai angen i Lywodraeth y DU neu Senedd y DU alw refferendwm ar y pwnc hwn, neu byddai angen rhoi pwerau penodol i'r Senedd er mwyn i refferendwm o'r fath gael ei gynnal.

O ganlyniad, nid yw’n bosibl i’r Senedd gymryd y camau y mae eich deiseb yn galw amdanynt.
