Deiseb a wrthodwyd Amend Sport Wales discriminatory practices in the provision of coronavirus support grants
Sport Wales are currently offering grants under the Be Active Fund, the purpose of which is to support grass roots sport affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The advertised criteria for eligibility being that the club be not for profit, and that funds applied for are to prepare the club to reopen in a covid safe manner. Sport Wales are exercising discriminatory practices in the allocation of grant funding. Discriminatory practices are adversely affecting grass roots sport

This petition is brought by Karate Wales. The criteria set by Sport Wales adversely affects any sport considered by Sport Wales as 'high risk'. Requiring that ‘high risk’ sports clubs belong to a Governing Body. The discrimination occurs where Sport Wales dictate to which Governing Body a sport belongs. For Karate, Sport Wales require membership of Welsh Karate Governing Body. Karate Wales as a legitimate alternative Governing Body, is not recognised by Sport Wales. As a result it’s …….. Clubs and …. Students are not eligible to receive grant funding. Sport Wales is itself funded by public money, and grant funding ought to be available to all grass roots clubs operated safely. This is particularly apparent at this time when the benefits of exercise can not be overlooked in the current climate, exercise benefitting both physical and mental health. All clubs that offer this benefits to their members, there futures should not be jepordised due to a discriminatory practice.
Pam gwrthodwyd y ddeiseb hon?
Mae’n ymwneud â rhywbeth nad yw’r Senedd na Llywodraeth Cymru yn gyfrifol amdano.
Mae’n rhaid i ddeisebau i’r Senedd alw am gamau gweithredu penodol sy’n dod o fewn pwerau’r Senedd neu Lywodraeth Cymru.
Chwaraeon Cymru sy’n gyfrifol yn weithredol am y meini prawf ar gyfer grantiau drwy’r Gronfa Cymru Actif. Er mai Llywodraeth Cymru yw un o’r cyrff sy’n cyllido Chwaraeon Cymru, nid oes ganddi reolaeth uniongyrchol dros y sefydliad na’i pholisïau. Mae’n bosibl y byddwch am drafod y materion hyn yn uniongyrchol â Chwaraeon Cymru, os nad ydych wedi gwneud hynny’n barod.
Dim ond deisebau nad ydynt yn bodloni’r safonau ar gyfer deisebau y byddwn yn eu gwrthod
