Deiseb a wrthodwyd Increase support for non essential business closed due to Covid reflecting other Uk devolved Nations

Welsh Government have repeatedly claimed that their package of support for businesses affected by Covid-19 is the most generous in the UK however, extending the level 4 restrictions on non-essential retail businesses in Wales is now having a devastating effect on their likelihood of surviving the pandemic as the grant support available to them is not reflective of the situation. Currently, no other support is likely to become available before 31 March 2021.

The NDR grant amounts to less, over a longer period of time in Wales compared to other UK nations. It is inconsistent with previous support been deemed necessary to help businesses survive during the pandemic
We call on Welsh Government to relook as a matter of urgency, especially given the lack of substantive information on when we can expect to re-open
Welsh Government must ensure that Welsh businesses can survive the pandemic and begin rebuilding as soon as possible, when restrictions are lifted
Business owners currently have very little control over their destiny for the first time time
