Deiseb a wrthodwyd Hold PUBLIC ENQUIRY regarding planning at Penrhos Nature Reserve/Park on Anglesey

The reserve/park was owned by Anglesey Aluminium whereby the reserve/park was gifted to the people of Holyhead to USE. It was then sold on to Land and Lakes for development into a holiday park, putting at risk the diverse wealth of wildlife inhabiting the woodland including rare species such as breeding bats and many more. The woodland is also inhabited by a population of red squirrels.

Plans for development were originally passed for 3 sites in one application. Originally they contained plans for housing Wylfa Newydd workers and affordable housing. The plans have now been dramatically reduced in Nov/Dec 2020 whereby the focus is now on the reserve itself. The holiday village developer has now reapplied for planning in the time Nov/Dec 2020 putting at risk the ancient woodland of Penrhos and the biodiverse natural world within. It is a much loved area for locals and tourists alike, providing much joy for the people who frequently visit. It would be a travesty to destroy such a beautiful natural world that is Penrhos. We would politely urge the Senedd to please, look at the plans in detail, hold a public enquiry and give us the chance to save Penrhos Nature Reserve/Park.
