Deiseb a wrthodwyd Follow Scotland and Spain, allow self-ID for trans people by statutory declaration.

On the 22nd of December 2022, the Scottish Parliament passed its Gender Recognition Reform (Scotland) Bill, allowing for self-ID for transgender citizens. 30 other states, countries and regions across 4 continents have adopted similar laws, including Spain on the same date. I would call on the Senedd to put forward similar legislation to follow the Welsh Government's aim of becoming "the most LGBTQ+ friendly nation in Europe".

At the time of putting forward this petition, the UK Government has not explicitly stated that a Section 35 order will be called upon, and as such while the Scottish Bill is yet to recieve royal assent, it has still successfully passed through the Scottish Parliament -
