Deiseb a wrthodwyd Petition to Hold a Referendum on the Recent 20 mph Speed Limit Change in Wales

The decision to impose a blanket 20 mph speed limit in specific areas across Wales has left many of us feeling unheard and disregarded. This drastic reduction in speed limit has negative implications for our daily lives and local economies.

The 20 mph speed limit feels excessively restrictive, impinging on our ability to make efficient journeys and plan our schedules.

There is doubt about the effectiveness of this speed limit in improving road safety. Factors like driver behaviour, education, and road infrastructure improvements should take precedence over arbitrary speed limit reductions.

I request that the Welsh Parliament consider the frustrations and concerns of its citizens and initiate the process to put the 20 mph speed limits that came into force on September 17th out to referendum.

The people of Wales should have the opportunity to vote on this topic and our opinions should be taken into account.
