Synthetic fuel is used in Motorsport and carbon neutral varieties are available now such as the one mentioned in Richard Hammonds garage series 3 episode 3. It used captured carbon, hydrogen and ethanol. There is no need for any changes to your engine and varieties are used in Motorsport . It's cheaper and with the cost of living crisis is a better option. EV batteries only last 10 years, after manufacturing the carbon footprint is the same as a ICE vehicle. Hydrogen vehicles are expensive.

In fact WHO has synthetic fuel listed as an option governments can use to reach net zero.. Many people drive and visit friends and family for mental health. If they push us out of cars mental health issues will rise due to isolation and loneliness like during Covid. Currently the transport policy discriminates against the disabled and elderly, carers and nurses, there are much better ways. Synthetic fuel should be available for the general public to buy everywhere.
