Deiseb a wrthodwyd Make fireworks illegal to buy, with the exception of licensed public displays

Fireworks can be a source of fear, distress and even death for many animals. They affect pets, livestock, wild animals and even zoo animals.

Dogs and horses can suffer from tinnitus, hearing loss and long-term hearing damage caused by fireworks. Livestock such as horses often try to escape the bangs out of fear, sometimes injuring themselves in the process.

We ask that Welsh Government works with the UK Government to ban fireworks from sale, with the exception of licensed public displays.

Each year, more than 10million people buy and use fireworks in the UK.

Over 100 horses are killed or injured in firework related incidents each year.

The RSPCA report that over 64% of animals are negatively impacted by private firework displays.

Fireworks have now become so commonplace that they are used in people’s back gardens at all times of the year thereby making it even more difficult to avoid impacts on animals.

As we have seen recently, they are also now being used as weapons.

The public have recently voiced their opinion at a UK level with a petition containing over 1million signatures being delivered to Downing Street.

It's time for Welsh Government to act too.

Pam gwrthodwyd y ddeiseb hon?

Allwn ni ddim cyhoeddi deisebau sy’n gofyn am rywbeth sy’n digwydd yn barod neu rywbeth sydd wedi’i gyhoeddi ers i chi ddechrau eich deiseb. Rydym ni’n credu bod y Llywodraeth neu’r Senedd eisoes yn gweithredu ar yr hyn sydd yn eich deiseb chi. Os ydych chi eisiau rhywbeth arall, gallech chi ddechrau deiseb newydd sy’n nodi’n glir beth yw hynny.

Dim ond deisebau nad ydynt yn bodloni’r safonau ar gyfer deisebau y byddwn yn eu gwrthod
