Deiseb a wrthodwyd Keep British Summer Time (BST) All Year Round – Stop the Wasteful Clock Change
Every year, Wales — along with the rest of the UK — turns the clocks back in autumn, plunging our evenings into darkness just as people finish work or school. This outdated tradition no longer benefits modern society and has become a pointless and costly habit.
We call on the Senedd to urge the UK Government to end the practice of changing the clocks and to keep British Summer Time (BST) all year round.

Why this matters:
Safety: Brighter evenings mean safer roads and fewer accidents for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.
Health & Wellbeing: More daylight after work encourages outdoor activity, socialising, and better mental health.
Energy Efficiency: Longer daylight hours reduce the need for artificial lighting and heating, cutting waste and emissions.
Economy & Tourism: Lighter evenings extend business hours and boost hospitality and leisure sectors across Wales.
Modern Life: The original reason for “falling back” — to help farmers and factory workers in the early 20th century — simply doesn’t fit with today’s working patterns and technologies.

Let’s make a common-sense change that benefits everyone — our health, our safety, and our environment.
Wales can lead the conversation and show that it’s time to move forward, not backward.
