Deiseb a wrthodwyd Ensure NRW uses all available enforcement powers to halt unlawful development
We call on the Welsh Government to take immediate action to address unlawful development and waste dumping occurring in Coedpoeth, Minera and other areas across Wales.
Multiple sites have begun operating without planning permission and environmental protection. They continue despite Legal Notices to stop and remediate. Residents report environmental harm, including suspected contaminated waste, dust clouds from dumping activity, and fears that pollutants may enter local rivers and watercourses.

We also call for long‑term policy changes to prevent future unlawful development, including:
Automatic escalation to injunctions when Stop Notices are breached
Stronger pre‑application controls to prevent development beginning without permission
The creation of Rural Protection Zones with enhanced enforcement
A multi‑agency taskforce to coordinate action across NRW, councils and police
Mandatory environmental testing at any site where unpermitted waste is deposited
Residents deserve safety, environmental protection and clear, decisive action.
