Deiseb a wrthodwyd Allow parents of children under the age of 1 to have a support bubble during level 4 restrictions
When level 4 restrictions come into place and extended households no longer allowed, many new parents will suffer from no support. Women especially are more vulnerable during the first year after giving birth of suffering from mental health issues let alone now during a pandemic. Many new parents are isolated and home alone, at the moment single parents are allowed to form a support bubble however many new parents are still alone whilst their partner works full time, many do not work from home.
Rhagor o fanylion
Currently in England new parents of children under the age of 1 are allowed to form a support bubble regardless of if they are a single parent or not. Allowing new parents to have a support bubble during level 4 restrictions will help many and hopefully also help decrease the chances of new parents from suffering from postnatal depression, anxiety and other mental health conditions. Many parents who have had a baby in 2020 are already suffering and many more will suffer with poor mental health, loneliness etc the longer this goes on, if parents are unwell then the children will also be affected.
