Deiseb a wrthodwyd Hold an independent review into the data used behind the 20mph rollout.

We have all seen the stopping distance calculations that have been published as evidence for why 20mph zones are necessary however the data behind them is incredibly out of date. As far as I can tell stopping distances for 30mph have been kept the same in the highway code since 1959 however any modern vehicle with ABS, disk brakes and larger higher grip tyres is going to be able to stop an awful lot faster than a 1950's vehicle.

The Welsh Government insisted on using this stopping distance calculation along with other surveys lacking in responses and valid data to drum up support for a vanity 20mph scheme that petitions since have shown that the majority actually disagree with. You will find many surveys the Government have used have just over 1000 responses. I hope with this petition that a review can be had as to whether or not the Welsh Government has purposely mislead the public about 20mph zones.
