Deiseb a wrthodwyd Review the education provision of Blaenau Gwent in Wales.

There is a collective letter by headteachers sent to parents/ carers debating the funding for provision of future services to education in our community. This comes at a time where Blaenau Gwent CEO will retire in June 2024 and there is a proposed merge to save funding with the CEO of Torfaen. Whilst this may be a secured good move it is not right that children face further in equalities in their education as a result of funding from Welsh Government who have openly gone against their own laws.

A collective headteacher letter is sent to all parents/ carers of children in Blaenau Gwent education provision.
There is the ALNET Wales 2018, The Curriculum and Assessment Act 2021, The Future Generations Act and The UNCRC being broken, if there is a disadvantage in each and every child’s education in Blaenau Gwent. Our towns may have been destroyed to make children feel less of value and not have the options as ‘city’ children may but do not take away their right to a good education. Let’s advocate for every child and aid the Headteacher’s who genuinely care about our children. I met with the late Peter Clarke who was the first Children’s Commissioner for Wales who even undergoing his own cancer treatment inspired me to make a difference to the lives of children. I can not access the circulating letter however I have not viewed how parents/ carers/ any member of public can help change the rights that all children in Blaenau Gwent should have in regards to their future education.
