Deiseb a wrthodwyd Protect and support for live music in Wales through the COVID-19 crisis
Live music events have been unable to take place across the UK for 6 months. The industry is collapsing around us due to a lack of support from government to sustain our amazing Welsh venues, festivals and companies that make up the supply chain. Thousands of jobs are at risk across the country.
We are calling on the Welsh Government for meaningful support for an industry that has been left behind.

Our industry is important and contributes billions of pounds each year to the UK economy. Without major immediate support from government, the entire supply chain is at risk of collapse.
The live events sector which employs circa 1,000,000 highly skilled people in the UK, all of whom have had no work since March with little likelihood of restarting until Spring 2021. The sector includes a huge supply chain of companies ranging from event production, audio, lighting, video, logistics, planning, transportation and some of the world’s leading technology manufacturers.
We are calling for meaningful support from the Government until the industry is allowed to operate in a way that is not limited by social distancing policies.
In Wales we have £53 million allocated to support the industry but the Arts Council application is only accessible to its regular portfolio categories. It doesn’t reach the technical side of the industry.
